Too much sitting at work or while traveling etc can lead to thrombosis or blood clots in us, be careful!!
If you have been sitting for a long time in front of your computer without any movement then you have more chances of getting affected with blood clots or thrombosis!! It has been brought to light by some doctors that too much sitting whether at work or sitting during travel or even at home etc could cause VTE or venous thromboembolism. This is an issue that combines both deep vein thrombosis or DVT or pulmonary embolism or PE. What exactly is thrombosis? When the normal flow of blood is restricted due to the formation of a blood clot inside the vein then thrombosis would occur in us. Information is that DVT would occur in our legs. Sometimes, clot would travel to the lungs too and this could lead to pulmonary embolism or PE. It was pointed out by a Dr. Sunil Rana from Asian Hospital that Reason why sitting increases the risk: The circulation of blood would lower in our legs if we just sit for a long duration of time. This can lead to venous stasis and it would make it simpler for clots to develop. Especially those who are dehydrated or overweight must be very careful. There would be inflammation in our blood vessels due to stagnation and this would then lead to clot formation in us. It has been brought out by some research studies that sitting for more than 8 hours without any movement could result in thrombosis. There are certain warning signs of thrombosis in us and these are Various early signs of thrombosis are swelling in a single leg, redness or skin becoming darkened, sudden shortness of breath or chest pain, rapid heartbeat or dizziness etc. Who could get affected by thrombosis easily? Thrombosis could occur in those persons who sit for an extended period of time, had surgery recently, those who use birth control pills, those who smoke, those who are obese and those who have family history of clots etc. Ways to avoid thrombosis: Firstly, by shifting every 30 to 45 minutes by standing up, doing stretches and walking for short distances etc. Secondly, it is necessary to stay hydrated or drink water because dehydration would thicken the blood and this would increase clots. Blood clots can be avoided by us by sitting up straight with feet flat on the floor and finally by doing a minimum of 150 hours of physical activity every week.

Never take these health supplements with milk, please take care!!
If there is one drink that is considered as a nutrient rich drink in every household, then it is none other than milk!! Yes it`s true that many of us drink milk every day. Drinking milk with meals or with health supplements would soothe our stomach and digestion. Not many of us are aware of the fact that there are certain supplements that must never be consumed along with milk. These are the health supplements that we must never consume with milk. Never consume iron supplements with milk: When we drink milk with iron supplements, then absorption of iron would be hindered. It is worthy to note here that calcium present in the milk would couple with iron from iron supplements and this combo would make it tough for the body to absorb iron. Nott only calcium bit also casein and whey proteins in milk would make it difficult for iron absorption. It has been brought to light by research studies that absorption of iron would be reduced by 50percent by consuming it with milk. It is good to consume iron supplements with water. Never consume thyroid medicines with milk: Drinking milk with thyroid medications would affect the absorption of thyroid medications. It must be taken into note that calcium and iodine would interfere with levothyroxine absorption. By this, the effectiveness of thyroid medications would get lowered and hormone levels would become unstable. However, it is good to take thyroid medications with water. Never consume antibiotic supplements with milk: It has been revealed that antibiotic supplements like tetracycline and ciprofloxacin must never be taken with milk. Bitter fact is that calcium in the milk would get attached to these and form complexes. The complexes would not be absorbed by the body. It is necessary to give atleast 30 minutes between intake of antibiotic supplements and milk etc. Antibiotic supplements must be taken with water only and not with milk. Never consume zinc supplements with milk: It is learnt that both zinc and calcium are vying for absorption in the intestines. The amount of zinc absorbed by our body would get reduced if we combine both zinc supplements and milk. It must be noted that if we are on zinc for immunity or for skin health etc then consuming milk would make zinc ineffective. It is okay to consume zinc supplements with foods that do not contain dairy. Never consume magnesium supplements with milk: Truth is that magnesium absorption by our body would get reduced by consuming magnesium supplements with milk. Many of us take magnesium supplements for sleep, muscle recovery or for PMS and they must consume magnesium with water and stay away from milk etc.

Gold Price Soars: Sovereign Rises by Rs 1,960 in a Single Day!
The price of gold has been rising at an alarming rate since the beginning of this year. Although it dipped slightly at times, offering temporary relief to buyers, it has frequently surged to new highs – leaving both jewellers and investors shocked. At the beginning of last month (August), the price of a 22-carat sovereign stood at ₹73,000. It gradually increased, crossing ₹75,000 on August 6, and then touched ₹75,200 and ₹75,760 in the following days. This steady rise has significantly impacted jewellers, especially with the wedding and festive seasons approaching. Last week, gold prices saw a minor correction. On Tuesday, the price dropped by ₹640 and again by ₹40 on Wednesday, reaching ₹84,320 per sovereign. However, the trend reversed by Thursday and Friday, and today (October 14, 2025), the Chennai gold market witnessed a massive jump. The price of a 22-carat sovereign has surged by ₹1,960, now selling at ₹94,600. Similarly, one gram of 22-carat gold has increased by ₹245 and is priced at ₹11,825. This sudden surge has once again shaken the gold market. Detailed Price Breakdown (October 14, 2025): 22-carat gold: ₹11,825 per gram – ₹94,600 per sovereign 24-carat gold: ₹12,900 per gram – ₹1,03,200 per sovereign 18-carat gold: ₹9,770 per gram – ₹97,700 per sovereign As gold prices soared, silver too witnessed a slight rise. Silver is now being sold at ₹206 per gram and ₹2,06,000 per kilogram. Experts attribute the surge to global market fluctuations, rising US interest rates, and the ongoing demand during India’s wedding season.
Is your morning coffee the real reason behind your cortisol or stress hormone increase?
Caffeine and cortisol don`t get along!! If you think that drinking coffee after waking up in the morning would give you energy without any issue you might be surprised by this!! It has been brought out by some experts that drinking coffee in the morning could also spike the cortisol or stress hormone levels in us. High levels of cortisol would be secreted by our body automatically after we wake up in the morning and this would increase our alertness and energy etc. Truth is that this increase in cortisol hormone usually takes place between 6qam to 10am in the morning and by drinking coffee at this period caffeine would reinforce the effect making cortisol levels higher. We could feel weird, irritable and would have a racing heart etc. It was mentioned by a senior consultant from Noida based Sharda Hospitals that chronic high cortisol over time can result in issues like fatigue, hormonal disruption and sleep issues etc. When to drink coffee after waking up? Now, this leads to an important question – When to drink coffee after waking up in the morning? It is worthy to note that we mustn`t drink coffee right after waking up in the morning. After waking, we must wait for 80 to 90 minutes and then drink coffee. This was as per the consultant from Sharda Hospitals. There are few signs that would reveal that the coffee is spiking our cortisol levels. The signs are feeling jittery after drinking coffee, racing heart plus other signs like slump in the energy midday despite drinking coffee and difficulties in sleeping during night etc. Stress response: Drinking coffee would trigger adrenal glands to secrete more cortisol and adrenaline and this would be similar to how hormones would be released when the body faces stress. It must be noted that if a person is already under pressure due to work, lack of sleep etc then this extra boost would push stress levels even more. Simple tests to know if cortisol in the body gets spiked by coffee intake Step one, we must not drink coffee as soon as we get up and instead wait for 60 to 90 minutes. Step two, by eating a minor snack or breakfast that would buffer the effect of caffeine on the stress system. It is necessary to consume matcha or green tea instead of coffee if the body is very sensitive. By watching the energy curve for about a week and monitor how mood and alertness shifts. Finally, by monitoring cortisol with saliva or blood tests etc. Important note: It is worth noting that by coordinating or synchronising coffee routing with the natural cortisol cycle we would be able to drink coffee without any jitter or energy slump etc.
