Do you know one important health issue in the kids that has been making many parents feel sad and unhappy now? The answer is non alcoholic fatty liver disease or NAFLD. It is a condition where fats get accumulated in the liver. It is known that the liver is an important organ in the body and maintaining liver health is very essential for the sake of lives to be normal. Though in the beginning this NAFLD might not cause harm, later on it could lead to serious damage to the liver. Bitter fact is that the kids could also get liver cirrhosis issues later on. Parents must never ignore NAFLD in their kids. There are few tips that every parent must follow to prevent this issue in their kids. These are By encouraging a balanced diet: Parents must provide nutrient rich diets to their kids to prevent NAFLD in their kids. These would include fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, whole grains etc. By this, the overall health as well as the liver health of the kids would get boosted. Parents must avoid giving high processed foods, sugary beverages etc to their kids. Parents must encourage their kids to drink water, make their kids consume homemade fruit smoothies etc. By promoting physical activity: It is true that kids could avoid getting NAFLD by means of physical activity. It is important to do atleast half hour or 30minutes of exercises daily. Exercises like cycling, running, swimming etc would be superb for the kids. It is a must for parents to keep an eye on the body weight of their kids and seek the help of a doctor when necessary. It would be possible to maintain a healthy body weight through a healthy diet plus doing exercises etc. So parents, please be careful. Giving powdered milk to the kids – Things to note!!
These days, a convenient option for many parents seeking alternative for fresh milk is powdered milk or dried milk. It must be noted that when water gets evaporated from the pastured milk, then we could get powdered milk. There is always some confusion among parents regarding the safety and healthy aspect of powdered milk for their kids. Point to be noted here is that when powdered milk is prepared and stored correctly then it is safe for the kids. Bacteria would get eliminated through rigorous pasteurisation and drying ensuring safety. It is noteworthy that powdered milk should never be used as a substitute for breast milk. The reason is that powdered milk would not have the essential nutrients for the newborns etc. For the child`s safety we must take into account these three factors like following instructions while preparing, checking for allergies and storing it properly. Health benefits of powdered milk for kids: Powdered milk is rich in calcium and this would help in strong bones and teeth for kids. Powdered milk is a good source of proteins. While fresh milk could get wasted, powdered milk has a long shelf life. Finally, powdered milk would provide added nutrients for growing kids. Safety concerns associated with powdered milk: There is risk of contamination and storage regarding powdered milk. Bacteria like Salmonella could cause contamination of powdered milk leading to food borne illness. The young children with developing immune systems are at risk of getting food borne illness. The lack of antibodies in the powdered milk is also a huge drawback. As a result, the kids could get infections etc easily. For atleast the first year, breast milk is suggested and powdered milk must not be used without consulting a doctor. Powdered milk can be added to the diet as drink, cereals, in cooking, choosing fortified powdered milk. Drawbacks of powdered milk: Parents must select those brands that are low in added sugars and free from flavours etc. Parents must read the labels before giving powdered milk to their kids. Dietary fat is needed for brain development in the kids and for that the parents must go for whole milk powder for skimmed milk. Bitter fact is that powdered milk would not have certain heat sensitive vitamins like C etc. Added sugars would be present in some brands and they are unfit for the children. Taste of powdered milk would be different when compared to fresh milk. Avoiding powdered milk: Those babies below 12 months must not be given powdered milk as they lalack certain nutrients for the babies. Those kids who are lactose intolerant must not be given powdered milk. Point is that kids with milk allergies must not be given powdered milk to avoid allergic reactions.

Pioneering Campus Security: Tamil Nadus New Guidelines and the Role of Captiv Techno Solutions
In a significant move to enhance safety and security in educational institutions, the Tamil Nadu government recently introduced new guidelines that require universities to implement real-time tracking systems, maintain electronic records of visitors, and adopt stringent measures for surveillance and access control. These measures, outlined by the Higher Education Department, are set to have a far-reaching impact on campus safety, especially with an emphasis on visitor management, nighttime access restrictions, and women’s safety. The government has directed all universities to swiftly execute these measures and submit progress reports. When our news bureau reached out to Mr. Saravanan Krishnamoorthy, a former government officer and a pioneer in security technology, hailed the initiative as a potential game changer for his views on the new guidelines. Mr. Krishnamoorthy believes the government’s push for enhanced security in educational institutions will be transformative. “This initiative by the Tamil Nadu government could be a game changer, and our company is well-positioned to assist in this shift. We have been handling campus safety and security for several years now, providing cutting-edge solutions that have been successfully implemented in numerous campuses across the country,” said Mr. Krishnamoorthy. His company, which specializes in Visitor Management Systems (VMS), Attendance Management Solutions, and Women’s Safety Solutions, has been at the forefront of these developments. The company recently completed Phase 1 of its Visitor Management System implementation at IIT Madras and IIT Hyderabad, marking a significant milestone in streamlining campus security. Mr. Krishnamoorthy, who received applause and numerous awards for his implementation of QR code-based entry-exit systems in government ports, particularly the Chennai Port is now the founder and Chairman of Captiv Techno Solutions Pvt Ltd. The company’s technical expertise has garnered widespread recognition, particularly in the field of Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCC), Safe City projects, and Smart City initiatives. With years of experience in highly customizable security solutions for educational institutions, Mr. Krishnamoorthy’s company is uniquely equipped to help institutions meet the new regulatory standards set by the Tamil Nadu government. “We are proud to be a part of various ICCC projects across the country, and our experience in Smart City and Safe City projects positions us perfectly to cover all the vital functionalities outlined in the government order,” he added. The company’s security solutions, which can be tailored to meet the unique needs of each institution, include not only visitor management and attendance tracking but also comprehensive systems for women’s safety—a critical aspect of the government’s new guidelines. In line with the growing demand for high-tech security solutions, the company recently inaugurated a Global Delivery Centre and a Research & Development (R&D) Centre in OMR, Sholinganallur, Chennai. This new facility is fully equipped to handle large-scale implementations, enabling the company to deliver its solutions on a war footing for educational institutions across the region. “We are now in a position to rapidly scale up our operations and handle the urgent requirements from educational institutions that need to comply with the newly mandated safety measures,” said Mr. Krishnamoorthy. “Our R&D Centre will play a pivotal role in enhancing the capabilities of our existing systems and developing new solutions that align with evolving security needs in the educational sector.” The Tamil Nadu government’s guidelines are designed to create a comprehensive, tech-driven safety environment in universities and higher education institutions. Key provisions include the installation of CCTV systems, the mandatory use of ID cards for all staff and students, and the tracking of vehicle movements within campus premises. The regulations also highlight the need to restrict access to academic and research buildings during night hours, with only authorized personnel permitted to remain in these areas. Moreover, the guidelines stress the importance of a functional Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace (POSH) Act to ensure that universities are providing a safe environment for women on campus. The implementation of these measures will require robust technological support, particularly for the real-time monitoring and visitor management systems that are central to the new regulations. As universities across Tamil Nadu prepare to meet these new standards, Mr. Krishnamoorthy’s company remains a key player in the sector, offering both technical expertise and scalable solutions to ensure seamless implementation. “The implementation of these new safety guidelines will require a collaborative effort between government bodies, educational institutions, and technology providers. We are ready to support institutions in fulfilling these directives quickly and efficiently, ensuring the safety and security of all campus members—students, faculty, and staff,” he concluded. The Tamil Nadu government’s decision to enforce stringent safety and security measures in higher education institutions is a significant step towards creating safer, more controlled campuses. The real-time tracking, visitor management, and access control systems will not only protect students and staff but also create a model for other states to follow. With industry leaders like Mr. Saravanan Krishnamoorthy and his company leading the charge in cutting-edge security solutions, the future of campus safety looks promising, as educational institutions move swiftly to implement these game-changing measures.
