The price of 22-carat gold jewellery in Chennai registered a significant decline today, the first trading day of the week. Gold prices fell by ₹880 per sovereign, bringing the price down to ₹92,160 per sovereign. The price per gram has decreased by ₹110, now selling at ₹11,520 per gram.
Over the past month, gold rates in India have shown continuous fluctuations due to international market conditions. On November 22, gold witnessed a sharp increase of ₹170 per gram, reaching ₹11,630 per gram, while a sovereign rose by ₹1,360, selling at ₹93,040. Silver prices also increased by ₹3 per gram, reaching ₹172 per gram.
As November 23 was a holiday, prices remained unchanged. However, today’s rate change reflects a noticeable market correction.

Alongside gold, the price of silver has also dropped by ₹1 per gram, now selling at ₹171 per gram.
